The newly established winery TERRA TANGRA is situated on the south-west slopes of the Sakar Mountain, along the Maritsa River, in the Thracian lowlands. The award- winning winery Terra Tangra is a landmark of quality and style in modern Bulgarian wine making. The family-owned estate covers 350 hectares with perfect climate conditions, virgin soil and unspoilt terrain.
The vineyards: certified for biological production, produce small quantities of high-quality red and whitegrapes for varietal wines and blends.
The terroir : ” terroir of hills” is characterized by an altitude between 180 – 500 m, soil of decomposed granite and Clay limestone, and very good soil drainage.The climate is Continental : hot summer and an open winter with constant air flow from the Black and the White sea.
The vineyard: 400 ha ( 1000 acres ), double Guillot, 5000 plants /ha, with limited production – 30hl/ha.

The winery: the ultimate ripeness of the grapes, the modern equipment forvinification, the high-tech bottling line, the French barrels and the strict monitoring and control over the good oenological practices, together with the French wine consultant, who owns several Chateaux in Saint Emilion, Bordeaux, are the key factors which givethe chance to the gifted wine makers to produce unique and remarkable “big” wines.
The presence of Terra Tangra on the international wine scene: Andrew Jefford wrote in Financial Times (25/ august 26 2007) that our CabernetSauvignon will bring back the good reputation of the Bulgarian wines on the International wine scene.The wine magazine BACCHUS gives 91 points to our ROTO wine, which is the highest ranking achieved by a Bulgarian wine.We participate in the most well- known expositions and tastings all over the world (Bordeaux, Germany – Mundus Vini, Prowein, UK – International WineChallenge, Decanter, and London wine fair, Canada – Selections Mondiales des vinsCanada, Austria – AWC Vienna, France, Italy - VINITALY, Switzerland –SIAL, Wine for Asia in Singapore). Our terroir and wines are wellawarded by the international wine tasting commissions with gold medals scores of over 90 points.
